Rainbow Stars

The International Quilt Festival came to Cincinnati this past weekend and with it was a fantastic display of quilts including the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild's Ohio Star Challenge.  Here was my modern take on the traditional Ohio Star block...

The quilting on this one was a lot of fun.  I wanted the Ohio star to show up in the quilting and not just in the pieced blocks.

The best part about having my quilt hanging at such a huge show was just standing back and watching the people walk by and check it out....stepping in closer for a better view.

This was also my first quilt show with a new challenge in store....navigating the crowds with a stroller (which contained a screaming baby at times).  I really think he liked looking at all the quilts with their bright colors and interesting patterns.  Surely this one must have been his favorite.

  1. Your guild did a great job with the Ohio Star quilts. Your quilt was my favorite. I especially liked the quilted star - what a great touch!
